Physical Education department offers Physical education as a Major subject along with Minor papers according to NEP 2020.Dr. B. R. Ambedkar College, affiliated to the University of Kalyani, situated in the heart of a vibrant educational hub, boasts a dynamic Department of Physical Education that plays a pivotal role in nurturing students' holistic development. Students from the Department of Physical Education have consistently made the college proud by winning several university championships. These victories highlight the department's dedication to fostering a competitive spirit and excellence in athletics. The training and guidance provided have not only prepared students for university-level competitions but also equipped them to excel in more prestigious arenas. The department's curriculum is designed to blend theoretical knowledge with practical application, providing⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ students with a well-rounded understanding of sports, science, anatomy, physiology, and nutrition. Moreover, the Department of Physical Education actively promotes extracurricular participation in intercollegiate competitions, tournaments, and sporting events at regional, national levels. Through these platforms, students not only showcase their sporting prowess but also cultivate essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Above all, the faculty member is always ready to render all possible assistance and guidance to students within and outside the campus as and when required. Consequently, students get through the final examination with flying colors every year and go for further higher studies. There is a library in college with a separate reading room. The Department does not have its own library but the department has a collection of some books which are often provided to the students. Internet facilities are currently available for both teachers and students. Through its comprehensive approach to physical education, the Department of Physical Education at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar College continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the minds and careers of future educators, preparing them to contribute meaningfully to the field of education and society at large.
